Program Overview
GOAL Program
“Get Outside And Learn” (G.O.A.L.) is a free, self-guided field trip program that invites educators and students to turn the outdoors into a living classroom. Available year-round, the program can be adapted for a variety of ages and subjects, with hands-on curriculum, Adventure Backpacks, field supplies, lesson plans, and other educational resources available to support exploration and discovery. Through direct experiences in nature, students can strengthen critical thinking, connect classroom lessons to the world around them, and make learning more engaging. Reservations required.
Outdoor Discovery Program
A free, naturalist-led field experience for school groups. Students explore the ecology of our preserves through hands-on activities, guided hikes, and inquiry-based STEAM learning aligned to California Content Standards and Next Generation Science Standards. Programs are held entirely outdoors and available at Oak Glen, Wind Wolves, and Desert Region Preserves.
